Brazilian grappler Cassia Moura, already the UFC BJJ women's bantamweight champion, beat Australia's Adele Fornarino by split decision Thursday night in Las Vegas to win the first women's flyweight title. That makes her the first double champion in UFC BJJ history, UFC says. In the co-main event, Renato Canuto beat Ethan Crelinsten by unanimous decision for the vacant lightweight title.
UFC.com's results story says: “In the main event, reigning bantamweight champion Cassia Moura added the inaugural women’s flyweight title to become the first double champion in UFC BJJ history, while the co-main saw Renato Canuto finally achieve his dream of UFC BJJ championship glory as he captured the vacant lightweight crown.” The event was Oct. 8 at Meta APEX in Las Vegas.
