Status

Confirmed from ADCC's awards post dated Oct. 19, 2026. Victor Hugo is named best fighter of the 2026 world championships. His country is not on that page, so it is not printed.
  • Confirmed
ADCC says Victor Hugo won gold in the division above 99 kilograms with four wins, all by submission.
  • Confirmed
Victor Hugo is on ONE's Nov. 6 card against Devhonte Johnson, and that bout is on the event page.
ADCC, a top no-gi grappling tournament, on Monday named Victor Hugo the best fighter of its 2026 world championships. ADCC says he won the division above 99 kilograms with four submissions, and he meets Devhonte Johnson on Nov. 6.1
The awards post says the gold came in four matches, all finishes. It also names a best takedown, a fastest submission, and a best fight. It does not say how the awards were chosen.
The championships were Sept. 12–13 in Kraków. That date is on ADCC's own event listing, not on the awards post.
The awards post does not give Hugo's country, and neither does the ONE bout line this desk used, so it is not printed here.
Why it matters (Estimate). The award gives grappling fans a reason to watch Hugo's match against Johnson on Nov. 6, on a card that also has a lightweight title fight. It is one of the few big grappling matches aimed at U.S. primetime this fall, and the page does not name the U.S. channel.
ONE's Fight Night 49 page still lists Victor Hugo against Devhonte Johnson in an openweight submission-grappling match on Nov. 6. The page calls Hugo the reigning ADCC world champion and Johnson an IBJJF no-gi world champion, and it does not name a U.S. broadcaster.
