A laboratory worker at the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Research Institute of Siberia and the Far East died after she was hospitalized with severe pneumonia, the World Health Organization said. Plague is not confirmed. Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Wednesday that the organization cannot yet finish a risk assessment. News organizations quoting Russia's health watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor, say the cause is still unknown and that there is no epidemic risk for Irkutsk. This desk could not open the watchdog's own site.
