Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner sat with Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday. Putin said he had stopped strikes on Kyiv from midnight Sept. 5. He said Ukraine had cut strikes on Russia, including Moscow. He said there was no three-day truce. The two sides did not announce a peace deal.

A Plymouth jury sat about seven days and could not agree. On Friday, Judge William Sullivan called a mistrial. Lindsay Clancy, 36, does not deny killing Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in January 2023. District Attorney Timothy Cruz has not said whether he will try the case again. A hearing is set for Sept. 29.

Five people in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Wisconsin were charged this week over voting in 2022 or 2024. The Justice Department named them on Friday. One, Thomas Holtzman of Carlisle, is a U.S. citizen accused of helping. These are accusations. The five are presumed innocent. No one has been convicted.
