- Confirmed
Ultrafast mode for GPT-6.1 Sol is available in the API, and to some ChatGPT Work and Codex customers.
- Confirmed
OpenAI lists the price at $12 per million input tokens and $60 per million output tokens.
OpenAI made an Ultrafast setting for its GPT-6.1 Sol model available Thursday to developers and to some ChatGPT Work and Codex customers. OpenAI says it runs up to eight times faster than Sol's standard mode. It costs $12 per million input tokens and $60 per million output tokens, six times Sol's standard list prices of $2 and $10. OpenAI says it is meant for work where speed matters, such as debugging an outage. A Sept. 30 story on this site said the mode was coming.
OpenAI's API changelog for Oct. 8 says it added Ultrafast mode for GPT-6.1 Sol in the Responses API. Developers use the model gpt-6.1-sol with a service tier set to ultrafast, to cut the time between generated tokens. OpenAI says it is available to all API users, subject to rate limits, with global processing and U.S. and European Union data residency.
OpenAI Developers said Ultrafast is rolling out for GPT-6.1 Sol in the API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work, and that API pricing is $12 per million input tokens and $60 per million output tokens. In Codex and ChatGPT Work, OpenAI says it is on Pro 500, eligible usage-based Enterprise, and credit-based education plans, and that Enterprise administrators must turn it on. The speed claim is OpenAI's. This site's Sept. 30 story on GPT-6.1 Sol said Ultrafast was coming in the coming days, and listed standard prices of $2 and $10 per million tokens.
