New customers start on the new plans. Existing SuperGrok, Cursor, and X Premium subscribers can keep the plan they have. The help pages say a switch cannot be undone.
SpaceXSI said Monday it is selling one subscription, called The X Subscription, that covers Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium. The monthly prices on the announcement are free, $8, $30, $100, and $200. New customers buy this plan. People who already pay for SuperGrok, Cursor, or X Premium can keep what they have or switch. The help pages say that if you switch, the change is permanent.
The announcement is on x.ai and dated with the company’s Oct. 12 news list. It says the plan will reach everyone globally over the next few days, and that it is available to new customers now. Paid tiers share a pool of Grok use across the Grok apps, the Grok tab on X, and Cursor. The company says each comparable new tier includes more usage per dollar than the plan it replaces, and at least twice as much coding use of its own models as the comparable Cursor plan. Other companies’ models remain available in Cursor on Premium and above, billed separately at list price.
The table on the announcement: Free is $0, with daily Grok access, a starter allowance for Cursor’s coding agents, and standard X. Plus is $8 a month, with more use plus a checkmark, creator tools, and fewer ads. Premium is $30, described as the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+ that the company says previously cost $90 combined, with four times the Plus allowance. Super is $100, with 15 times the Plus allowance. Ultra is $200, with 50 times. The pricing page repeats the free, $8, $30, and $100 steps and says prices exclude tax and can change.
Teams pay the same per seat as the individual Premium, Super, and Ultra prices, the announcement says, with single sign-on, admin controls, one bill, usage analytics, and a security compliance report. Enterprise customers can run Grok and Cursor from one dashboard.
Nothing changes today for someone who keeps an older plan, the announcement says, and the older plans are no longer sold to new customers. Switching, it says, comes with a prorated refund of unused time. The documentation adds a limit: the switch cannot be undone, and support cannot undo it. Someone who pays for Cursor through Apple’s app store has to cancel that subscription themselves. The documentation says there is no date yet for moving people who never switch, and that any later change would come with notice.
This is a packaging and price change. The post does not announce a new model.
What is still unknown or disputed
- When the plan is offered in every country. The post says “over the next few days.”
- The exact usage caps behind “4x,” “15x,” and “50x.” The table names the multiples and does not print token counts.
- Whether the pricing page’s feature grid, which this desk’s fetch rendered incompletely, lists Ultra the same way the announcement table does. The prices in the story are the announcement’s.

What is The X Subscription?
x.ai documentation · October 12, 2026
Switching to The X Subscription is optional. Your current plan, price, and features continue unless you change or cancel. The switch is permanent. It can’t be undone, and Support can’t undo it for you.
