Status

Partially confirmed. President Trump posted Wednesday night that he is looking at legal options to remove a second Daniel J. Sullivan from Alaska's Senate ballot. That post is his. His claims that the race is a scam and that Democrats put the second name on the ballot are his claims. Alaska's elections office was not checked.
  • Confirmed
Trump wrote at 10:28 p.m. Eastern on Oct. 21 that he is concerned about the Dan S. Sullivan Senate race and is looking at legal options.
  • Unverified
Whether a second candidate is on the ballot, and under what party, was not confirmed on a state elections page.
President Trump said late Wednesday that he is looking at “legal options” to remove a second man named Sullivan from Alaska's Senate ballot. The post is his. The state elections office was not checked, so this story does not say who is on the ballot.1
At 10:28 p.m. Eastern he wrote that he is “very concerned about the Dan S. Sullivan Race for the U.S. Senate in Alaska,” that it is “totally confusing,” and that “the Dumocrats” are “putting up another man, totally unrelated to Politics, named Daniel J. Sullivan, Jr.” He wrote, “It’s ridiculous that the Court didn’t stop this SCAM,” and “We are looking at powerful legal options to remove the fraudulent Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. from the Ballot.” The words scam, cheating and a party recruiting the second name are his claims, not findings.1
Which court he means, and when it ruled, is not in the post. Early-voting dates are not taken from this post, and they are not printed, because the state page was not opened.
Why it matters (Estimate). Estimate. Two candidates with the same last name can split votes in a Senate race. The president is talking about a lawsuit over Alaska's ballot. Until the state list is checked, readers have his post and not the ballot.
The post went up at 10:28 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
