On Oct. 1, 2026, Treasury said automatic enrollment is complete. Every eligible child under 18 with a valid Social Security number has an account ready. A parent has to claim the account in an app to receive the $1,000 seed. Secretary Scott Bessent is quoted: “over 60 million more eligible children…”
