Foreign investors sent a net $83.7 billion into U.S. markets in July

The Treasury Department released July 2026 Treasury International Capital data on Wednesday. Net foreign acquisitions of long-term securities, short-term U.S. securities, and banking flows totaled a net TIC inflow of $83.7 billion. Private foreign inflows were $73.5 billion; official inflows were $10.2 billion. Foreign residents’ net purchases of long-term U.S. securities were $40.6 billion, while after adjustments overall net foreign sales of long-term securities were estimated at $27.9 billion. Foreign holdings of Treasury bills rose by $38.8 billion. The next TIC release, covering August, is scheduled for Oct. 16, 2026.
