Status

Confirmed from the Tallahassee Police Department page, read October 26, 2026. The Saturday block, timestamped 11:30 p.m., is still the count of people hurt. The Sunday, Oct. 25 block says no deaths have been reported and does not name a suspect.
  • Confirmed
The Saturday release says at least 12 people were hurt just before 8 p.m. near Perry and Manatee streets, six of them juveniles, 11 with gunshot wounds.
  • Confirmed
The Sunday, Oct. 25 update says no deaths have been reported. It does not name a shooter and does not publish a new injured count.
No one has died, Tallahassee police said on Sunday, Oct. 25, after the shooting near Perry and Manatee streets. The Saturday count is still the one on the page: at least 12 people hurt, six of them children. Police have not named a suspect.1
The newer block on the police page says the shooting “occurred at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.” It says: “At this time, no deaths have been reported in connection to this incident.” Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit had worked through the night. Chief Lawrence Revell said, “We will determine what happened, identify those responsible, and get answers for all of the victims, their families and everyone impacted by this tragedy.” He asked anyone who saw or filmed it to call. “We know there are people who saw something, heard something or may have video that could help us piece together exactly what happened.” The hotline for this shooting is 850-891-4610.3
That Sunday block does not change the Saturday count. Of the 12 people police knew about at 11:30 p.m., 11 had gunshot wounds. Six are adults and six are juveniles. At least three of the people who were shot had serious injuries, and nine others were reported in stable condition. A physical fight came before the shots, the Saturday release said, and it timed the shooting at just before 8 p.m. Police did not say who fired, or why. The Sunday update does not replace those figures.1
Why it matters (Estimate). Twelve people were hurt on a Saturday night on a city street, and half of them are children. The Sunday update is the department's first public word that no one has died, and it still does not say who fired. Families near Perry and Manatee streets have a death count of zero and no name for a shooter.
On Saturday, Chief Lawrence Revell said officers carried victims to safety before the scene was fully secure. The older tip line is still on the page, 850-891-4200, along with Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS. The line the department wants used for this shooting is the Sunday hotline, 850-891-4610. The page says, “No detail is too small, and no piece of information should go unreported.”

Notes

  1. 1.Tallahassee Police Department, “Tallahassee Police Investigating Shooting Near Perry and Manatee Streets, Multiple Victims Injured,” dated October 24, 2026. https://www.talgov.com/publicsafety/News/6100 “As of 11:30 p.m., the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) is continuing its active investigation into a shooting that occurred just before 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, near the intersection of Perry and Manatee streets.” “Preliminary information indicates at least 12 individuals were injured during the incident, including 11 who sustained gunshot wounds. Of the 12 known victims, six are adults and six are juveniles.” “At this time, at least three of the shooting victims have sustained serious injuries, while nine others are reported to be in stable condition.” “Early findings indicate a physical altercation occurred prior to the shooting.” The page does not name a suspect and does not announce an arrest.
  2. 2.Same Saturday release. Chief Lawrence Revell: “It is especially heartbreaking to know that children are among those injured. In the moments immediately following the shooting, and before the scene was fully secure, our officers put their own safety at risk to carry victims to safety and transport them to the hospital.” Tip line on that release: 850-891-4200. Crime Solvers: 850-574-TIPS. A later update is on the same page and is quoted in the next note. The Saturday release remains the page's count of people hurt.
  3. 3.Same page, block headed “UPDATE: Sunday, Oct. 25,” read October 26, 2026. https://www.talgov.com/publicsafety/News/6100 “The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) continues to actively investigate a shooting that occurred at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, near Perry and Manatee streets.” “At this time, no deaths have been reported in connection to this incident.” The Sunday block does not restate 12 injured, 11 gunshot wounds, six adults, or six juveniles. Chief Lawrence Revell: “We will determine what happened, identify those responsible, and get answers for all of the victims, their families and everyone impacted by this tragedy.” Also: “We know there are people who saw something, heard something or may have video that could help us piece together exactly what happened.” “No detail is too small, and no piece of information should go unreported.” Dedicated tip hotline: 850-891-4610. Crime Solvers remains 850-574-TIPS. The Sunday block does not name a suspect.

What is still unknown or disputed

  • Who fired. Neither the Saturday release nor the Sunday update names a suspect or says anyone has been charged.
  • The ages of the six juveniles. Not in either block on the page.
  • Why the fight started. The Saturday release says a physical altercation came first and does not describe it. The Sunday update does not add a reason.
  • A revised count of people hurt. The Sunday update does not give one. It says no deaths have been reported.
