On Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, NFL.com reported the Khosla family officially closed its purchase of the Super Bowl LX champion Seattle Seahawks for $9.612 billion, eight days after NFL owners approved the sale. Vinod Khosla will be chair; Neeru Khosla controlling owner and president of the Seahawks Charitable Foundation; Neal Khosla vice chair. The family relinquished its 49ers minority stake as a condition. Sale follows the Paul G. Allen Estate process. No odds or picks. Week 1 still opens Wednesday, Sept. 9 (Patriots at Seahawks) per the NFL Week 1 slate.

NFL.com, Associated Press, datelined RENTON, Wash.: “The Khosla family officially closed its purchase of the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks for $9.612 billion on Thursday. The Seahawks announced the final step eight days after NFL owners approved the sale.”

“Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, will hold the title of chair. Neeru Khosla will serve as controlling owner and president of the Seahawks Charitable Foundation. Neal Khosla will serve as vice chair.” The same dispatch says the family announced a dozen co-owners and that “the sale happened in accordance with the wishes of late team owner Paul Allen, whose estate began the process of selling the team in February.” “The Khosla family was required to relinquish its ownership stake in the San Francisco 49ers as part of the deal.”
