OpenAI starts rolling out GPT-6 Astra

OpenAI is putting GPT-6 Astra in more people’s hands.

The company’s launch post says the model rolls out first to a limited set of organizations. Over coming days it is to reach ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, and the OpenAI API, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Bedrock.

The API model id is gpt-6-astra. On the standard API tier the list price is $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans also get GPT-6 Astra Pro. Enterprise administrators can turn Astra on; access starts off.

OpenAI calls Astra its most capable model for broad deployment. It says Astra is state of the art on computer use, browsing, software engineering, cybersecurity, science, and professional work.

Company scores on that page include FrontierMath Tier 4 at 98 percent, ARC-AGI-3 at 99.9 percent, and ExploitBench at 100 percent. On OSWorld 2.0 latency tests, OpenAI says Astra scored 72.6 percent in about 40 minutes per task, against 65.7 percent in about 75 minutes for GPT-5.6 Sol.

Greg Kamradt of the ARC Prize Foundation, quoted on OpenAI’s page, said Astra “surpassed our human action-efficiency baseline on 96% of levels, effectively reaching human parity on the benchmark.”

OpenAI says Astra meets the Critical cybersecurity threshold under its Preparedness Framework. The system card on the Deployment Safety Hub has a changelog dated Sept. 9, 2026. A safety overview sits at openai.com/index/safety-overview-gpt-6-astra/.
