Status

Partially confirmed. OpenAI's news feed lists “Introducing GPT-6.1 Terra,” timestamped 00:00 GMT on October 26, 2026, which is 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, October 25. The article page returned an error. Monday's edition did not include the item.
  • Confirmed
The feed item exists, in the Product category, with the description “Bringing fast and capable computer use to everyone.”
  • Unverified
Price, who can use it, and how it compares with other models are not in the feed, and the article page did not load.
OpenAI's own news feed gives a reader a title and one line, not an article. The listing is “Introducing GPT-6.1 Terra,” with the line “Bringing fast and capable computer use to everyone.” The timestamp is 00:00 GMT on October 26, 2026, which is 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, October 25, just outside this edition's window. The article itself did not open.1
A listing on a news feed is a title, a one-line description, and a link. A launch page is the article at that link, where the company would say who can use the model and what it costs. The feed files the item under a category it labels Product and links to openai.com/index/introducing-gpt-6-1-terra. The page came back as HTTP 403, with no article attached, so this desk did not read a launch page. Monday's edition does not contain the item.
Why it matters (Estimate). Estimate. People who might use the product, and people who might not, cannot learn what it does from a page that did not open. Which group, if either, gets GPT-6.1 Terra is not in the feed. The only description in hand is the feed's one line about computer use.
What a reader cannot learn from the feed is who may use GPT-6.1 Terra, what it costs, or how the company says it differs from models already on sale. The feed does not say. This desk will not fill those blanks from a page it could not read.
