OpenAI rolls out dots, always-on agents on GPT-6 Astra

On Sept. 29, 2026, OpenAI launched dots: always-on agents powered by GPT-6 Astra, each with its own cloud computer. The company says they can use plugins across more than 4,000 apps. Rollout starts for Pro, Business Premium, and Enterprise, the last of those as an admin-enabled beta, in eligible markets. The first primary dot is included in Pro and Business Premium. Custom Rules and an auto-review step gate actions that have consequences.

Also on Sept. 29, 2026, OpenAI posted “Introducing dots.”
