Confirmed as a White House announcement (fact sheet, Oct. 2, 2026). Payment has not been independently confirmed as deposited.

The White House said Friday that Medicare will send a one-time payment of $90 to more than 20 million people, to help with Part B premiums. The money is to come from the

. Most people who qualify are supposed to see a direct deposit in early October. People whose premiums Medicaid already pays, and people who pay an extra charge based on income, are left out.

The fact sheet is dated Oct. 2, 2026. It says the payments help enrollees pay Medicare Part B premiums.

The fact sheet says Congress gave the

$2 billion to improve Medicare’s fee-for-service program, and that no administration had used the fund before. It says the fund was established in 2008. Those sentences are the White House’s account.

Most eligible people are to get $90 by direct deposit in early October. People without direct deposit are to get a check at the address Medicare has on file, also in early October.

The fact sheet says people whose premiums are already paid by Medicaid do not qualify. People who pay an Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount, the extra Part B charge tied to income, also do not qualify.

People can call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) about eligibility. The fact sheet says questions about whether a payment went out should go to the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213.

The fact sheet makes a longer argument about earlier health laws and drug prices. This story does not adopt that argument. It reports the payment the sheet announces.
