That dispatch does not report a verdict. Clancy, a former labor-and-delivery nurse, has pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility, AP reported. Lindsay M. Clancy of Duxbury is on trial in Plymouth Superior Court. A Plymouth County grand jury on Sept. 15, 2023, returned three murder true bills under G.L. c. 265 § 1 in the Jan. 24, 2023, deaths of Cora, Dawson, and Callan Clancy, and three companion counts of strangulation or suffocation under G.L. c. 265 § 15D(b). The Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said she pleaded not guilty. AP reports she pleaded not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility, and that she does not deny strangling the children but says postpartum psychosis led to her actions. That is the defense as reported by AP. Postpartum psychosis is not treated here as a medical finding.

    Duxbury Woman Arraigned On Charges That She Murdered Her Three Children

    Today, Lindsay Clancy, 33, was arraigned in Tewksbury State Hospital on three counts each of Murder and Strangulation. Clancy pleaded not guilty to the charges and was held without bail at the facility. On September 15, a Plymouth County grand jury indicted Lindsay Clancy on the charges.
