Confirmed from the Federal Reserve Federal Open Market Committee calendars page listing September 15–16, 2026, with a Summary of Economic Projections. No new policy statement has printed yet for this meeting. Friday’s Consumer Price Index remains the last major Bureau of Labor Statistics inflation print before the decision.
The Federal Reserve’s rate-setting committee starts a two-day meeting tomorrow. The Board’s Federal Open Market Committee calendars page lists September 15–16, 2026, with a star marking a Summary of Economic Projections meeting. That is when the Fed could next change rates. No new policy statement has printed yet for this meeting. Friday’s Consumer Price Index for August remains the last major Bureau of Labor Statistics inflation print before the decision: the all-items index rose 0.4 percent in August after seasonal adjustment and was up 3.4 percent over 12 months. The next Consumer Price Index release is Oct. 14, 2026. The Bureau of Economic Analysis schedule shows no print today; next major BEA items include Sept. 24 international transactions and Sept. 30 GDP and August personal income.

What is still unknown or disputed
