FBI says it is investigating claimed hack of fbijobs.gov and alleged employee data exposure

On Sept. 23, 2026, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said a cybercrime group claims it compromised the fbijobs.gov hiring portal and may have affected employee personal information. The bureau said it does not yet know whether the breach was at a third-party vendor or inside FBI systems, and that it is investigating with the portal’s providers. This is an official statement, not an indictment or verdict. Justice Department news pages returned 401 to the desk.
