Confirmed (Anthropic news post, Oct. 2, 2026). This is a training program, not a new model.

Anthropic said Friday it will spend $100 million to train 10,000 engineers by the end of 2027. The program is called Claude Frontier Academy. The company is not announcing a new model. It is teaching people who already work inside banks, drug companies, and consulting firms how to put Claude into a real business.

The post is dated Oct. 2, 2026. The people being trained are called Frontier Deployed Engineers. Anthropic says the first program uses the same standard it uses for its own engineers.

The first cohorts include engineers from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, and Novo Nordisk. The company says others are in as well. Cohorts are running in San Francisco, New York, and London. A company nominates its own engineers. Each one is supposed to arrive with a Claude project to lead back at work.

Training starts with several days in person. Engineers work through a made-up company deployment, from picking a use to a security review to handing the system over, and then take a graded practical. Those who pass get a Claude Resident Engineer badge and start a 12-week residency on a real project, with Anthropic engineers nearby. A second assessment at the end leads to a Frontier Deployed Engineer badge. Anthropic says the first of those badges are expected in early 2027.

Steve Corfield, Anthropic’s global head of business development and partnerships, said the hard part is finding people who can take Claude “from an idea to a system in production.”

The post also says that across a partner network of 46,000 firms, people have earned more than 175,000 Claude certifications, and that nearly 4,000 people have finished a shorter program called Basecamp. Those figures are the company’s. This desk did not audit them.

Friday’s edition had already closed when this post went up. It is not a new frontier-model launch.
