Anthropic opened a waitlist for Claude Duet, a separate app, for U.S. Pro and Max subscribers.

The company said the app is designed around Claude Opus 5.5 and is not a new model. Limits on money movement and on sensitive numbers are the company's.
Anthropic on Wednesday opened a test of Claude Duet, an app that it says watches your other software and does tasks without waiting for a prompt. It is a research preview, by waitlist, for U.S. subscribers on the Pro and Max plans. It is not a new model.1
The company said that Claude Duet is a standalone app on iOS, Android, and the web, designed around Claude Opus 5.5, a model it already offered. Before the app sends, pays, signs, or deletes, Anthropic said, it shows the action and waits. Trading securities and moving money between accounts stay off limits even if the user approves, the company said. It said a classifier rejects credit-card numbers and government ID numbers. It also said the app “still might misread a thread or miscalibrate what’s urgent.” That caveat is the company's.1
The preview is a waitlist. It is not a general release, and it is not a new model name.
Why it matters (Estimate). Estimate. An assistant that can read mail and start a task is a different product from a chat box you have to prompt. Anthropic is letting a slice of paying U.S. users try it, and it is telling them the software can still misread a message. The underlying model is one the company already shipped.
The model the company names under the app is Claude Opus 5.5.
